Robbie Gould becomes highest paid waste of money

13 May, 2008 (10:12) | Chicago Bears | By: Phil Ayres

Are you kidding?  $15.5 million for 5 years with a $4.25 million signing bonus for a kicker????  Are you kidding me?  Given, he is a good kicker - no doubt.  But, is any kicker worth that much money?  Miss two HUGE kicks and see how many people want to keep him.  Why don’t the Bears take the money they are paying their kicker and go get a Quarterback?

Agree. Hard to justify how you can give so much money to a kicker.

they would rather pay robbie gould than devin hester…they give all these players big extensions but wont hook up their best playmaker…doing business backwards i guess

The Bears are unbelievable. First they give Lance Briggs a hard time, then Urlacher, then Hester but they sign a kicker to a multi million dollar contract?

Kickers are by far the most inconsistent position in the league, the “good ones” have a great year, then disappear into a sea of mediocrity. Did they ever hear of Mike Vanderjagt???
